Q.
Why are you more expensive than some of your competitors?
A. The bottom line is that you get more with Luxury
Home Video. We typically provide more locations videotaped in our
standard price, more attention to editing, and more time spent on
your project. All this translates into a better quality video.
Some
companies lure you in with a very low price that makes you wonder,
“How can they possibly travel to the site, set up their equipment,
shoot all the scenes, edit the video, add music, publish it to the
web, and provide a DVD for only $200?” Well, your gut feeling
about this kind of offer is correct. Of course, major quality compromises
must be made, and you end up getting what you pay for!
Read
closer and you are likely to discover that the initial price limits
you to only 5 scenes or equipment setups with additional setups
costing $25 or more. To give you an idea of how many setups it takes
to make a good video, take a look at the 117
Bishop and 203 Alvarado video
tours. Each of those uses over 10 scenes. Many more were videotaped
to provide the editor with a variety of choices. By the time you
add in all the extra charges, our competitors prices can cost more
than ours.
We
keep our prices as low as possible while paying our professional
videographers and editors a decent wage. We could pay less for our
talent but then we would have to rely on amateurs with less skill
and non-professional equipment. We believe that your clients deserve
the best we can provide when their valuable property is offered
for sale. |
Q.
What about sound?
A. Music in a video is more important than many
people realize. We use high quality music licensed from full service
recording studios. Some video editors save time by first editing
the scenes together, and then simply adding a musical track without
further synchronization to the scenes.
We do
it differently! First we select music that goes with the character
of the estate. (We invite your input on this.) Does jazz, classical,
popular, new age best suite the property? Then, we edit to the music.
We analyze the music for its rhythms and dynamics, and then cut
the scenes to fit the music. This produces a more professional and
appealing video. A good example is the video
for 208 Taylor.
